In case of losing connectivity to the network, do the devices have some memory to be transferred later when the connection is restored?

At this moment we do not store data locally on the gateway and or sensor. So if the Internet connection is not there, no data is collected. We are working on the functionality to have limited storage locally, so the wireless sensor network (xbee) keeps running and once the Internet connection is restored, the data is send to the cloud.
