How to set and visualise your notifications

In the platform it is possible to set notifications per sensor to make sure that you are growing in the perfect climate conditions. You can receive notifications by email or as SMS. This what you can find in this article:

How to set your notifications

Take the following steps to set up your notifications:

  1. Click on Sensors notifications via the main menu
  2. Click on + New notification
  3. Select the sensor (scroll down or enter sensor name/tag in the search bar)
  4. Set your notification:
    1. Fill in the notification name in Description
    2. Select the metric, and fill in the conditions for the notification
    3. Click on + Add condition to add extra rules to the notification
  5. Click on Show more settings when the notification needs to be triggered after a specific amount of minutes. Note: the condition is in seconds, so multiply it by 60 (seconds) to get the correct results in minutes. For example 5 minutes=300 seconds.
  6. Click on Create and go to Followers (tab at the top of the page)
  7. Set who would like to receive the notification and how
  8. Done!

Receiving too many notifications? You can set a limit per sensor. Go to the Sensors page via the main menu > click on the sensor > go to Settings > scroll down to Advanced settings > scroll down and adjust ‘Remind every’ and ‘Max reminders’ fields to your preference. Note: this will impact all notifications for this sensor.

Set your battery warnings

Besides the battery status in the Sensors list, you can set a notification for when your Connect(s) needs to be charged.

Click on Sensors notifications via the main menu. The first notification you see is the predefined battery warning. You only need to click on followers to set who would like to receive the notification and how.

Set your up/down warnings

We understand that you want to have your sensors online at all times. To prevent long outages, it is possible to set a notification for when your Gateway and/or sensor is offline.

Set your Gateway up/down notification

Go to Sensors and select ‘Gateway info’ as Type in the left column. Click on the Gateway in the list. Go to Notifications in the pop-up. The first notification you see is the predefined up/down notification. You only need to click on followers to set who would like to receive the notification and how.

How to visualise the notifications in your widgets

It is possible to visualise your notifications in your widgets as a dotted line. This is available for the line chart and bar chart.

Create a new widget or adjust an existing one to visualise your notification. When adding a sensor (data source) to the widget, you can choose between the different metrics from the sensor that you would like to visualise. The notifications are added as a metric to the sensor. You can recognize the notification by the alarm icon(see below). Select the notification and click + Select. Set your chart to your preferences and click on Create or Save. Now your notification is visualised in the chart as a dotted line.
